Herbal Shampoo with Pine and Grapefruit

This is a traditional herbal shampoo with the added zing of pine and grapefruit. Lavender and rosemary are often used in shampoos. Lavender calms and soothes the scalp, and rosemary and pine are stimulating, helping bring blood, which is rich in nutrients, to the scalp. Grapefruit has a tonic effect on the skin and scalp and the delightful smell makes a welcome addition to this shampoo. Herbal shampoo is particularly recommended for oily hair but is suitable for all hair types.

What’s in it?
6 1/2 tbsp (100ml) shampoo base
10 drops lavender
10 drops rosemary
5 drops pine
5 drops grapefruit

Moisturizing Cream

Kukui Nut Oil is high in linoleic and linolenic fatty acids, which are essential for healthy skin. Kukui nut oil is also easily absorbed by the skin and is known to benefit acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Sandalwood is much used in skin care and beneficially for all skin types, especially helping oily skin as it is slightly astringent. This cream is suited to all skin types and both sexes, so it makes a good general moisturizer for every one in the family

What’s in it? 
2 tbsp (30gm) of your chosen cream base
1 tsp (2ml) kukui nut oil
12 drops sandalwood

Cocoa Butter and Rose Cream

This is a rich face cream that is especially suited to dry and mature skin. At the end of winter, when the face has been exposed to the drying effects of cold wind, rain, and central heating, the skin may be very dry and perhaps a little red or flaky. This lovely recipe contains both essential and base oils that have a gentle, deept, and lasting action on the skin, making the cream a really effective moisturizer.

What’s in it?
1 tsp (4 gm) yellow beeswax
1/2 cup (130 ml) rose water
1 tbsp (10 ml) glycerin
1 1/2 tbsp (20 gm) cocoa butter
2 tbsp (35 ml) almond oil
1 tbsp (10 ml) jojoba oil
15 drops rose
15 drops frankincense
5 drops chamomile

Shea Butter and Honey Anti Wrinkle Cream

1 tsp (5 ml) warmed liquid honey
3 tsp (15 gm) shea butter

2 tsp (10 ml) wheatgerm oil)
2 drops myrrh
3 drops jasmine
